Our Roofing FAQs are a great way to find quick answers to common questions about roof repairs, maintenance, inspections, emergency call-outs and high-level access services. Whether you're a homeowner, landlord, property manager or commercial client, our frequently asked questions provide helpful guidance on the roofing services we offer across London, the Home Counties and the North West.
What areas do you cover?
London Platforms Roofing provides roofing, guttering and high-level maintenance services across Greater London, the South East and South West, with additional coverage in the North West of England.
We regularly work throughout London and surrounding counties, including Hertfordshire, Essex, Kent, Surrey and Buckinghamshire, and now also operate across the North West, covering areas such as Greater Manchester, Cheshire, Merseyside and Lancashire.
Thanks to our in-house mobile access fleet and specialist teams, we’re able to support residential, commercial and industrial properties across multiple regions — particularly where high-level access, rapid response or complex roofing works are required.
If you’re unsure whether your location is covered, our team will be happy to confirm availability and response times.
Do you work on both residential and commercial properties?
Yes. We carry out work on residential homes, apartment blocks, offices, schools, retail units, warehouses and industrial buildings. Our services are suitable for private homeowners, landlords, property managers and commercial clients.
What makes London Platforms Roofing different from other roofing companies?
Our key difference is access. We operate our own in-house mobile access fleet, allowing us to safely reach roofs up to 30 metres (approximately 7 storeys) without scaffolding in many cases.
This means:
-
Faster inspections and repairs
-
Reduced disruption
-
Improved safety
-
Lower overall costs
We also provide clear reporting, transparent pricing and fully insured workmanship.
Do you offer emergency roofing services?
Yes. We provide a 24/7 emergency roofing response for leaks, storm damage and urgent roof failures. Our vehicles are fully equipped, allowing many emergency repairs to be completed on the first visit.
Where a permanent repair isn’t immediately possible, we install temporary waterproofing to secure the building until full works can be carried out.
How quickly can you attend an emergency?
Response times depend on location and conditions, but our mobile access fleet allows us to deploy rapidly — often much faster than traditional scaffold-based contractors. In emergencies, speed is critical, and our access capability allows us to assess and act without delay.
Can you work on high or difficult-to-access roofs?
Yes. High-level access is one of our core specialisms. We regularly work on buildings up to 10 storeys high and can inspect, photograph and repair areas that many contractors cannot safely reach.
Where mobile access is not suitable, we will advise on alternative safe access solutions, including scaffolding if required.
Do you offer planned maintenance and contracts?
We do. In addition to reactive repairs, we offer planned inspections, preventative maintenance and annual contracts, particularly for landlords, block managers and commercial property owners.
Planned maintenance helps:
-
Identify issues early
-
Reduce emergency callouts
-
Extend roof lifespan
-
Maintain compliance and safety
Do you provide roof surveys and reports?
Yes. We carry out detailed roof inspections and provide clear written reports, often supported by photographic evidence. These are suitable for:
-
Property management records
-
Insurance claims
-
Planned maintenance planning
-
Pre-purchase or condition surveys
Can you help with insurance-related roofing work?
Yes. We regularly assist clients with storm damage assessments, insurance-compliant repairs and supporting documentation. Our reports and photographs help insurers understand the extent of damage and the required remedial works.
What types of roofing systems do you work on?
We work on a wide range of roofing systems, including:
-
Pitched roofs (slate and tile)
-
Flat roofs (felt, EPDM, GRP)
-
Leadwork and flashings
-
Metal and industrial cladding systems
-
Rooflights and roof access systems
Do you repair gutters, fascias and downpipes?
Yes. We provide full gutter, fascia and downpipe repair, maintenance and replacement services. This includes high-level systems on multi-storey buildings.
We also use the SkyVac gutter cleaning system with live video inspection, allowing us to clear and assess gutters safely and efficiently.
Do you offer warranties on your work?
Yes. All workmanship is fully insured and guaranteed. uPVC roofline installations are backed by 10-year warranties, and roofing works are completed using quality materials appropriate to the system and application.
Will I need scaffolding?
Not always. In many cases, our mobile access platforms remove the need for scaffolding altogether. This reduces cost, setup time and disruption. If scaffolding is required, we will manage this as part of the project and advise you clearly in advance.
Are your operatives trained and insured?
Yes. All work is carried out by trained professionals in full compliance with UK Health & Safety regulations. We are fully insured and follow strict safety procedures on every site.
How do I get a quote?
You can contact us by phone or enquiry form. Where required, we will arrange a site visit to assess the issue properly before providing a clear, fixed quotation with no hidden costs.
